Implant treatment is more than placing a fixture in an empty space. Planning begins with examination of the gums, bite, neighbouring teeth, medical history and the restoration that will eventually sit on the implant.

When indicated, three-dimensional dental tomography helps assess bone volume and nearby anatomical structures. The imaging area and timing are selected according to clinical need.

Smoking, uncontrolled systemic conditions, active gum infection and oral hygiene can influence the plan and healing. Tell your dentist about medications and health conditions before treatment.

Suitability, timing and alternatives can only be confirmed after a personal examination. Bringing previous X-rays and a current medication list can make the consultation more useful.
